I love Apple equipment, but on recent visits to Apple stores in two different countries, I realized that these are true windows into the New Age. Indeed, the New Age is very much here, as documented in the book The New Age Tower of Babel. An Apple Store represents one-worldlism in a breathe-taking manner.
The super high-tech, mysterious, uber-cool, highly desirable gadgets are designed in America, manufactured in China and elsewhere, and distributed throughout the earth. The Apple Store represents a global pop culture, a global mindset, a syncretized religion and philosophy, a libertarian morality, unisexualism, any-sexualism, rabid commercialism, covetousness, human arrogance in the face of Divine claims, and the mad pursuit of pleasure and wealth, all rushing pell-mell toward the end without a clue of what the future holds, all energized by “the god of this world.” An Apple Store is a major sign of the times in light of Bible prophecy.
An Apple Store represents the end-time Mystery Babylon. When Nimrod and his cohorts, Asshur, etc., built ancient Babel they intended to unite mankind around the very things represented by an Apple Store, to build a comfortable, pleasurable world in which man could pursue his own desires apart from the restraints of the Creator God and His holy laws. It would have worked, except God confounded the project by the simple tactic of multiplying human tongues, which effectually divided men into nations, and they have been divided ever since, not only by language, but by color, religion, philosophy, culture, etc., and separated further by a thousand human biases and animosities and fiercely-held opinions.
That was God’s plan for the past 4,000 plus years, but the time has come for the new Babylon to be built with its world language and world religion and world culture, as we see in Revelation 17-18. The barriers are falling and a New Age is progressing. At some point, when the Spirit of God completes His program of calling out a body of saints from among the nations in this present age, the Man of Sin will take the throne and everything will be ready for the devil’s next-to-final hurrah (the final one occurring at the end of the Millennium).
God’s people need to wisely use the technology and great opportunities of these days to fulfill the Great Commission in constant submission to God’s Word, which is our purpose until the very hour of the Rapture, but we must be very careful not to be captured by this world’s siren call.
An iPhone, an iPad, a Mac laptop (or Samsung or Kindle or a Surface or whatever) can be used for the glory and service of Christ, but there are very real spiritual dangers for the unwary and spiritually careless. In these trying times we must be on our knees and in God’s Word and in God’s house more than ever. (What has been said of Apple can be said of nearly all of the Western global merchandising corporations. They are as much about preaching a cultural philosophy as they are about delivering goods and services.)
