According to the New Scientist, “Evolution is a game of chance” and “humans hit the jackpot.” The dice were thrown “several million years ago” when a cosmic ray caused a mutation in the DNA of an “ape-like animal living in Africa” that resulted in “an advantage over its peers” that was subsequently passed along to the population (“Lucky You,” New Scientist, June 6, 2012). By such “evolutionary accidents,” everything came from nothing, life arose from non-life, and man arose from bacteria. This type of thing is written with a straight face by intelligent people, but there is nothing scientific about it. Such a scenario is contrary to every established scientific fact.
