A Jewish organization has pressured Voice of Israel Radio to stop broadcasting an ad for a gospel booklet. The ad offered a free booklet entitled The Power to Change: He Changed Me. Yad L’Achim, a Jewish organization dedicated to stopping missionary work among Jews, sent a letter to the radio station demanding that they immediately pull the ad and threatening legal action. The letter cited clause 7 of the Israel Broadcasting Authority bylaws which forbids the airing of advertisements from missionaries. This reminds us that the modern state of Israel sits in spiritual blindness, abiding in rebellion to Almighty God and in rejection of her own Messiah. This is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, which says she would first return to the land in a spiritually-dead condition, as described in the prophecy of the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37. That which Paul stated to the church at Thessalonica is still true today: “For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost” (1 Thess. 2:14-16).
