Answers In Genesis’s Creation Museum in Kentucky, a magnificent piece of Christian apologetics in an age of skepticism, recently dedicated its new observatory. The Johnson Observatory, named for Christian astronomer and inventor Lyle Johnson, houses two 16-inch reflector telescopes, including one built by Johnson as part of NASA’s run up to the moon landings. The family wanted the telescope to be given to an organization that believes God is the creator of the universe (“Creation Museum Unveils Historic Telescope,” Christian Post, April 17, 2012). Dr. Danny Faulkner will head up the museum’s planetarium and the new observatory, which will be used as part of the “Stargazer” program to teach astronomy from a biblical viewpoint.
